Clinical/Counselling Psychologist

We have an exciting opportunity for a psychologist to join the Clinical Health Psychology Services at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Trust. The applicant will form part of the Bariatric Psychology Service and provide psychology assessments and interventions to patients referred by the Bariatric team based at Sunderland Royal Hospital. The successful applicant will be working alongside a senior clinical psychologist, and an assistant psychologist, and will provide psychologically informed care directly and indirectly across the service. The post holder will be supported to develop their experience and skills within their role through CPD and supervision.

We welcome applications from psychologists who have experience of working in physical health care settings and with experience of working indirectly and representing psychology within MDTs. There will be opportunities to be involved in service development and evaluation, clinical audit, and in further clinical and research skill development. Supervision for clinical work will be provided by a senior clinical psychologist with expertise and experience in Bariatric Psychology.

DBS CHARGES

As from 1st November 2020, it is a requirement of South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust that all successful candidates who require a DBS for the post they have been offered pay for their DBS certificate. The method of payment is a salary deduction from your first month's pay.
