As a Senior Developer within our Flexible Resource Pool (FRP), you will work with colleagues from other teams within the Data and Systems Department (D&S) to develop OLAP cubes to meet our client requirements. The FRP Team works across the other teams in D&S to provide agile support and the ability to onboard new datasets and deliver solutions to meet the growing client requirements. The growth and frequency of new and current datasets over the last eighteen months has grown exponentially as has the demand for providing multi-dimensional models to allow our clients to answer questions in an effective manner.

Key skills and role responsibilities:

  • Work closely with key members of the Senior FRP and wider Data and Systems Team to deliver the increasing demand for NHS data in a robust and timely manner incorporating into an easy-to-use format for clients to analyse their data.
  • Assist in the developments and ongoing processing of data using cloud-based technology to improve performance and availability
  • To design, develop and implement a wide range of OLAP cube solutions using different types of data streams e.g. Primary Care, SUS, CSDS and MHSDS.
  • To manage and provide expert advice and support to internal teams and external clients including prioritising work plans, making best use of available resource and embedding quality throughout the service.

Role requirments & qualifications:

This role forms part of the FRP development function delivering the onboarding and processing of data of either current or new datasets.

  • Professional qualification at degree level in an information related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Experience working in industry systems/technologies supporting Data Management/ Business Intelligence
  • Significant experience in Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, ADF, Azure Synapse Analytics and Cloud technologies.
  • Should be proficient in TSQL and MDX programming languages.
  • Experience of working in a pressured and complex environment requiring prioritisation of workloads and negotiation of delivery timescales
