An opportunity has arisen within the University Hospitals of Leicester for a Senior Estates & Facilities Contracts Manager. This is a permanent role and is based within the Estates & Facilities team.

University Hospitals of Leicester (UHL) is a Trust with regional and national reach. It has an operating turnover in excess of £1 billion and it provides a wide range of general and specialist services across a diverse population of 1.2 million people to the urban and rural communities of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. The Trust also provides specialist services to the population in neighbouring counties and beyond. This is particularly exciting time for Leicester’s Hospitals. We have been given £450m by the Government to provide a host of new facilities and reconfigure services between our three main sites. Flagship projects include a new Children’s Hospital, a new Maternity Hospital, a new Treatment Centre and two new Intensive Care Units. Equally importantly, we are going “paperless”, with a £12m investment in our NerveCentre computer system to help our team deliver world class care.

The Post Holder will be responsible for the management of services in the following areas within Estates & Facilities

  • Development and delivery of the E&F contract management strategy for all Hard and Soft FM services.
  • The post holder will be responsible for achieving value for money across the E&F annual non – pay budget of circa £38m.
  • Identification and development of strategic partners and ensure resilience within the supply chain.
  • Deputise for the Head of Business and Performance where required.

The individual will need to possess excellent communication skills and be capable of developing strong working relationships with staff at all levels.
