The role of a Catering Assistant is to provide a high quality professional service in both the Catering Department and on Patient Wards.

At Leicester Royal Infirmary we have 4 posts

14 hours per week 3.00 - 7.00 working alternate weekends

27 hours, 9.30am – 4.00pm and will include some weekends.

27 hours, 10.30am – 5.00pm and will include some weekends.

14 hours, 4.00pm - 8.00pm and will include some weekends.

Catering duties will include:-
Assisting with patient meal ordering using IT systems.

Collating patient orders in readiness for patient meal service.

Transporting the patient orders from the Catering Department to the Wards and return for washing up.

You will also be required to prepare food and other duties such as in the wash up areas and cleaning in the main catering department.

Experience in Catering would be desirable and a willingness to work towards gaining a Level 2 in Food Hygiene is essential

Working in both Cold and Hot environments throughout the shift.
