LPT is looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals with a passion for practice teaching and education who has an extensive experience working as a SCPHN practitioner to support our 0-19 Healthy Together service.

We have a School Nursing Lead Practice Teacher post in Leicester. You should have a relevant qualification in nursing or midwifery, Specialist Public Health Nurse and hold a recognised Practice Teacher qualification.

As a Lead Practice Teacher, you will hold a caseload within a specified team as well as supporting the wider service development. You will have dedicated time to support the additional teaching and assessing part of the role.

The successful applicant will have excellent clinical, organisational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to drive forward the school nursing agenda. They will work alongside a School Nursing Clinical Team Leader, Operational Managers, other Lead Practice Teachers, and the wider leadership team, to provide clinical leadership, support, and training to SCPHN School Nurse Students and staff. The successful applicant will also deliver evidence based high standards of clinical practice and be an educational resource to the professional leadership team and the wider service. You will also be responsible for managing a team with a range of skills, holding responsibility for appraisals, pre-registration mentoring, clinical supervision and safeguarding. You will also work in partnership with Local Authority colleagues, stake holders and Higher Educational Institutes to influence and support curriculum design and development.

Healthy Together are a 0-19 service which works with children, young people and their families to deliver care close to where they live their lives – at home, schools, community setting and GP practices.

We use SystmOne as our Electronic Patient Record, and we are continually developing this to capture the great work our teams do.

You will need a full UK driving license and use of a car for this role. LPT operate 2 car schemes Car Leasing and Salary Sacrifice Scheme subject to meeting the acceptance criteria.

All posts are subject to a 6-month probationary period.

For areas where our teams work to staffing rosters, these are set in advance at a team level and you will join an established roster. Your rostered shifts will be confirmed to you when arranging your start date.
