The job

We are looking for a qualified Pharmacy Dispenser or Technician interested in joining a friendly, local GP surgery.

You will be working with our in-house Primary Care Pharmacist and GPs to support the delivery of the highest quality primary care service to our patients. More specifically, our Pharmacy Dispensers / Technicians are responsible for helping to manage the prescriptions and medication requirements of our growing patient population.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Checking and processing prescription requests
  • Working with in-house Pharmacists & GPs to deal with medication related queries.
  • Following Practice procedures to identify patients due for reviews and book them with appropriate clinicians.
  • Working with the Nursing team to managing supply & stock levels of emergency drugs and other clinical supplies in the practice
  • Liaising with local community pharmacies to address prescription related issues.
  • Helping the Clinical team with Audits, Medicines Optimisation, and ad-hoc health promotion

Pharmacy Dispensers / Technicians report to the group Lead Pharmacist.


Location: Kingfisher Medical Centre (SE8 5DA) or Penrose Surgery (SE17 3DW)
Hours: 20 - 32 hours during weekdays (mornings preferred)
Salary: Competitive depending on experience and qualifications.

About you

The right candidate will demonstrate a strong eye for detail and excellent organisational skills, as well as being a good communicator who can work well in a team and a fast learner.

Minimum requirements: Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant or Technician qualification and at least 1-year experience in community pharmacy or hospital.
