Qualified Nursing Associate / Nursing Associate Apprentice

BAND 4/3

Would you like to progress your career and begin training in the new Nursing Associate role and be part of the changing nursing and care workforce or are you a Qualified Nursing Associate looking for a new challenge?

An exciting opportunity has arisen from the successful bid of NHS England transformation funding to employ a Nursing Associate to our team. This role will focus on the delivery of population based mental health care for the community of Wyre Forest also working closely with colleagues delivering this exciting service in the locality of Malvern.

We require the successful candidate to have the appropriate qualifications (or be willing to undertake the two year Nursing Associate apprenticeship at the University of Worcester) as per the job description/ person specification to support the implementation of a new initiative in the locality identified. You will be working alongside multi-disciplinary teams of highly specialist practitioners and have direct relationships with the professionals within the local Primary Care Networks (PCN).

This opportunity will enable you engage in a new initiative that will equip you with enhanced skills for community mental health care delivery in one of the twelve selected pilot sites by NHS England. Applicants wishing to apply for an apprenticeship role will need to ensure that they meet the entry criteria, including Maths & English GCSE (Grade C/4 or above), and recruitment process for this role.

The key result areas for the role are that the Nursing Associate will:

 

  • Hold a Level 5 Foundation degree in Nursing Associate studies
  • Deliver high quality, compassionate care under the direction of a Registered Nurse (or other registered healthcare professional dependent on setting)
  • Have proficient attitudes and behaviours compatible with NHS Values
  • Work as part of a designated clinical and care team delivering care that focuses on the direct needs of the individual
  • Carry out specific delegated clinical and care tasks and responsibilities to a high standard and competency
  • Work with a mentor to take responsibility for developing own clinical competence leadership and reflective practice skills
  • Develop by the end of the programme the ability to work without direct supervision, at times delivering care independently in line with the individual’s defined plan of care within parameters of practice of the Nursing Associate role.
