Specialist Infection Prevention and Control Nurse – Community and Care Homes
North West Surrey Integrated Infection Prevention and Control Team

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a new Integrated Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Team within North West Surrey (NWS).

The role of the Specialist Infection Prevention and Control Nurse will encompass community and system working across NWS, focusing on community services or care homes.

We are looking for a dynamic candidate with a high level of autonomy, someone who will not only challenge inappropriate practice, but also must demonstrate clinical decision-making to assist in containing and reducing the incidence of infection through risk assessment, surveillance, audit, intervention and education.

You will have a proven track record in embedding quality improvement and patient safety.

The post holder will report into the Nurse Consultant in Infection Prevention and Control and be an integral part of an integrated team, to ensure community services remain compliant with the Health and Social Care Act, 2015: Code of Practice on the Prevention and Control of Infections and registered with no restrictions with the Care Quality Commission.

Who we're looking for:

  • NMC registered nurse

  • Experienced with the IP&C agenda and standards

  • IPC Certificate

  • Experience of working in teams with minimum supervision

  • Experience of working in a community environment

  • Competence across a broad range of skills, supported by professional and clinical knowledge acquired through state registration

This post is advertised on a permanent full-time basis – 37.5 hours per week.
