111 Dental call handler – Band 2 + Unsocial Hours Enhancements

15 hours per week (3x5 hour shifts)

Must be available to work a mix of the following shifts:7:00-12:00, 8:00-13:00, 13:00-18:00, 17:00-22:00, weekdays, weekends & bank holidays.

We at South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) have exciting opportunities within our dynamic and innovative urgent care service which is driven by saving lives and ensuring our patients receive the care that they need.

We are looking to recruit reliable and enthusiastic Dental call handlers to join our motivated, friendly and hardworking team based in Otterbourne, Winchester to support the smooth running of our Dental Advisory Service.


Working within this role you will carry out telephone triage in a sensitive manner providing assessment, advice and information in line with clinical protocols, and referring to other services where appropriate.

  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • An empathetic and caring manner

Desirable Requirements:

  • Call centre experience
  • Motivated towards further professional development
  • Understanding of GDPR and audit practices
  • Flexible working approach
  • IT qualifications
  • Geographical knowledge of Hampshire, Isle of Wight and Dorset

Successful candidates will be required to complete a one week fulltime training programme, covering internal systems, NHS triage assessments and call centre mentoring. We offer continued support throughout this role. The training for this role will start on:26th July 2021, candidates MUST be available on this date.
