NHS Greater Manchester Shared Services (GMSS)

*Please note that this vacancy is for NHS Greater Manchester Shared Services NOT Salford Royal Foundation Trust*

Due to the global pandemic our team is currently working from home, so new staff can expect a warm ‘virtual’ welcome but will need to have the ability to build relationships whilst working from home. Although this has been a change to our usual way of working and has required some adaption to our approach, we’ve found it to be working successfully and applicants should be able to work from home and be comfortable in working in this way until we are able to return to the office.

A full time permanent position as a Directory of Services (DoS) Support Officer has arisen to provide support to the GMSS Urgent and Emergency Care (UEC) Senior DoS Leads. Based within Greater Manchester Shared Services (GMSS), the post holder will provide support to the Greater Manchester (GM) Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG’s) as well as the affiliated GM-wide Urgent and Emergency Care and Primary Care systems and infrastructures.

The GMSS UEC Team provides support to all the GM CCG’s in relation to UEC from both a Directory of Services management and maintenance perspective as well as supporting the monitoring of the clinical governance and quality components of the GM NHS 111 provider and other affiliated UEC system stakeholders.

The Directory of Services is pivotal in the signposting of patients to the most appropriate services across the UEC system in real time and thereby its maintenance is paramount. The post-holder will support the GMSS Senior DoS Leads with the back end administration and maintenance of the UEC DoS functionality. The post-holder will also have oversight of the profiling requirements in relation to the Community Pharmacy Consultation Services (CPCS) and making the requisite changes within the CPCS tracker.

The post-holder will support the Senior DoS Leads by relaying relevant information from the National UEC Systems in order for them to scope out their affiliated programmes of work, as well as being able to collate reports from the data to be shared and presented with a wide range of key stakeholders.

Integral to the role will be the ability to provide project management support to the Senior DoS Leads on projects that they will be leading on and mainly being delivered at scale across the entire GM footprint.

Please note that should a vacancy that has been released for internal or external recruitment be deemed as a suitable alternative employment for an at risk employee, it can be withdrawn at any point up to the post being unconditionally offered to an external candidate or an internal candidate not at risk of redundancy.
