Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust was rated good by the Care Quality Commission in its recent inspection report published in January 2020.

Today it is one of the largest, modern hospitals on the south coast, with 1,200 beds housed in light, bright, infection resistant, en-suite wards. With a turnover of close to £600m, the Trust provides comprehensive secondary care and specialist services to a local population of 675,000 people across South East Hampshire. Some tertiary services are provided to a wider catchment in excess of two million people. The Trust employs over 7,300 staff and is the largest employer in Portsmouth.

Supply Chain Coordinator

South of England Procurement Services, the Trust’s Purchasing and Supply Department needs an enthusiastic team player to join our Supply Chain Team, who provide an essential supply chain management service to wards and departments, throughout Queen Alexandra Hospital.

 

Some knowledge of supply chain management and the use of hand held bar code readers would be useful not essential, as would the use of Procurement and Inventory systems however full training will be provided. You should have experience of working in a customer services environment and be prepared to undertake light lifting. Keyboard skills are essential.

 

You will have a flexible approach to work and the ability to communicate well with customers and colleagues. You will also be able to prioritise your workload whilst understanding that you will have to meet deadlines.

 

Whilst the South of England Procurement Services is based in Fareham, the Supply Chain Team is based at the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham, Portsmouth.
