Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT) provides a range of community health, mental health and learning disability services for people of all ages. Delivered through over 100 settings from inpatient wards to out in the community, our 6,500 staff serves over 1m people living in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.


North West Leicestershire Community Mental Health Team have a fantastic opportunity for permanent Band 5 CPN due to career progression within the team.

This is an excellent time to join adult mental health community as we work towards the exciting changes ahead as part of LPT transformation and Step Up To Great Mental Health. This role will be an integral part of the development of the treatment and recovery teams.

The team is very welcoming, supportive, fun and friendly. We provide assessment and treatment interventions for patients 18-65 years old with severe and enduring mental illness in a recovery focused way. This role will involve primarily holding a case load of patients that require depot administrations within their home or local community. There is a requirement to also participate with the duty rota on a fortnightly basis, taking calls from our patients to support them in the management of their ongoing recovery.

We are looking for people that

  • Have an enthusiastic, can do attitude.
  • Enjoy being a team player as well as being able to work on own initiative.
  • Have excellent documentation skills in terms of record keeping.
  • Have previous experience of working with mental illness either in an inpatient or community setting.
  • Are positive and enthusiastic in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Have good IT skills or a willingness to embrace the learning.
  • An ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure when required.
  • The ability to manage diary planning effectively.
  • Be able to effectively support and supervise junior staff and students.
  • We would consider this position for a newly qualified nurse with the attributes that we are looking for. We will provide a full preceptorship.
