The Trust has established the UK’s first Academic Health Science Centre (AHSC). The AHSC aims to bring together the delivery of healthcare services, teaching & research in a partnership for the purpose of improving the health of its patients, advancing clinical teaching & scientific invention & innovation.


Reprocess delicate, expensive & potentially unique research scopes.

Carry out tests on re-usable medical devices.

Record & process results to demonstrate compliance, enable audit & facilities analysis.

To carry out operational aspects & routine testing of equipment in unit

Escalate if cycles are not within normal limit.

Being able to analyse & interpret complex data from Track & Trace system as well as independent monitoring information to require with legal requirements.

Essiential skills:


Minimum of 6 months experience as an RU Technician


In-depth knowledge of decontamination / reprocessing technology.


Extensive experience in flexible endoscope decontamination & working within a recognised quality system (such as ISO 9002).


Extensive current knowledge of legislation, standards, guidance & practices related to decontamination of medical devices
