Base: Initially at Rotherham Diabetes Education & Resource Centre

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two highly motivated and dynamic individuals to join the Rotherham Diabetes Specialist Nurse Team.

We are looking for enthusiastic, flexible nurses with excellent communication skills with proven experience in diabetes management

The Diabetes Specialist Nurse role is an exciting, autonomous post.

The post holder will require post registration experience and in depth knowledge in the management of diabetes and will have the ability to deliver high quality service to people with diabetes.

The post holder will also be required to deliver educational packages to health care professionals and patients around effective diabetes management.

You would be joining the team at an exciting time, as we implement Video Consultations and other forms of remote support, alongside a more traditional focus on Nurse - led clinics both in the community and the Diabetes Centre.

The successful applicant will not only have excellent clinical skills, but will be able to demonstrate the ability to work and make decisions autonomously in a clinical setting but also to function within a multi-disciplinary team.

The cost of undertaking a DBS disclosure will be met by the individual. The Trust will meet the initial costs of the disclosure, and you can choose to have this deducted from either your first month’s salary or in instalments over your first 3 months’ salary. The current price of a standard check is £23 and an enhanced check is £40.

New starters to the NHS will start at the bottom of the advertised salary band.
