Are you looking for experience in a challenging and ever changing clinical environment?

We have a vacancy for Highly Specialised Cardiac Physiologist to support our expanding Cardiac Rhythm Management department.

We are looking to fill this position with a BSc qualified (or equivalent) Cardiac Physiologist who will work alongside the Cardiac Rhythm Management team to maintain our high standards of patient care. The successful applicant will be heavily involved in the set-up and management of our upcoming EP service so previous experience of EP is desirable.

Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust opened a new purpose built Heart Centre in June 2008. We are a dynamic and inter-professional Cardiology team delivering a wide range of services to the local community. Our philosophy is to strive to deliver excellent patient focused care in line with NICE guidelines, National Service Frameworks and evidence based practice.

We have been performing angiography for 15 years and percutaneous coronary intervention since 2008. We also perform varied cardiac procedures including permanent pacemaker implantations, implantable cardioverter defibrillator implantations (transvenous and subcutaneous), cardiac resynchronisation therapy, primary percutaneous coronary intervention, trans-oesophageal echo, stress echo, myocardial perfusion scintigraphy and cardioversion. We have a chronic total occlusion programme and utilise IVUS, OCT and rotablation. We are continuing to expand and will be providing electrophysiology and ablation in the near future.

This clinical post is suitable for an enthusiastic team player who has experience working at a senior level, who can work in partnership with the existing teams to provide and coordinate expert care within Northampton General.

The successful applicant will work within the cardiac rhythm management team assisting with complex device implants and follow-ups so experience within this area is essential.
