An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, well-motivated registered nurse to join the Acute Oncology Team at University Hospitals of Leicester. The successful applicant will join the well-established Acute Oncology Team providing high quality, patient-centred care to support timely management for patients presenting with complications of cancer and its treatment.

The role involves providing specialist advice and support to inpatient teams responsible for management of patients with cancer outside of oncology wards. The successful applicant will be involved in clinical work and audit, as well as teaching of students and staff. Applicants should be willing to undertake further training and development as required. In return they will be provided with a supportive environment, in which they can develop skills and knowledge within the field.

As an integral part of the team the successful applicant will be based at Leicester Royal Infirmary, but will be required to travel to Leicester General and Glenfield hospitals as workload demands. Working hours are predominantly Monday to Friday 9am-5pm, however some weekend work (approximately 1 in 4 weekends) will be required, flexibility is essential.

Previous oncology experience is desirable but not essential.
