This is an exciting opportunity for a consultant level psychologist to join our diverse and thriving team based across two sites in York and Leeds. The successful candidate for the permanent post will be responsible for leading and managing the team of psychological therapists based on our York site. They will play a senior role in the overall governance and development of the forensic service, alongside working into the Regional Provider Collaborative. Clinically, they will continue to embed an innovative service across the Vale of York region strengthening the clinical pathway from inpatient to community care.

In addition to our permanent post we are able to offer a temporary post based on our Leeds site to provide the same role whilst the existing Lead Psychologist completes a secondment. This would be a great opportunity for an experienced psychologist to gain consultant level experience perhaps whilst on secondment from their current post.

The department is very well established and offers a full range of interventions from individual and family work to consultations, training and leading on service developments and research. The department comprises of staff with expertise in a variety of interventions including Cognitive Analytic Therapy, Systemic family Therapy and Schema Therapy. The team are committed to supervision and there are opportunities for ongoing CPD. We have robust links with the surrounding universities and contribute to teaching on the courses and offer regular training placements.

If a DBS Check is required for your role the Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf and will recover the cost of the DBS check (Enhanced Check £48 or Standard Check £30) by way of deductions from your salary over the first 3 consecutive months of employment with the Trust. As a condition of your employment you will also be required to register with and to participate in the DBS Update Service, and will be responsible for maintaining payment, and subscription to the DBS Update Service (£13 annual payment).DBS checks for volunteers remain free of charge.
