Band 7 Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist

MSK Out-patients

37.5 hours per week / Mon – Fri (plus weekend and Bank Holiday roster)

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Occupational Therapist in in the musculoskeletal speciality, to join the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust (UHL) Therapy Services as a Clinical Specialist in the MSK Out-patients team, predominantly working in hand therapy.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and highly competent Occupational Therapist with a commitment to patient focused care who has significant previous experience in MSK Out-patients Occupational Therapy as well as good communication, organisational, supervision and teaching skills.

As the Band 7 Clinical Specialist you will work with an experienced Team of Occupational Therapists within the MSK Specialty. You would take an active part in staff development, supervision and teaching as well as maintaining a clinical caseload in the Msk outpatient department. You will be expected to liaise and work closely with in patient teams where required within the orthopaedic and hands burns and plastics Specialties

You will be expected to participate in service improvement, audit and continuing professional development. As a Clinical educator you will provide placements to Occupational Therapy students and take part in the education of other professions.

You will be expected to participate in the weekend and bank holiday rota working on the in-patient Orthopaedic wards.
