The Role


FETAL WELLBEING MIDWIFE

This is a fantastic development opportunity for a dedicated, passionate and motivated senior midwife. This role has been developed in line with the recommendations of the Saving Babies Lives Care Bundle version 3. We are very lucky to be able to welcome the successful applicant into the existing senior midwifery team and have high hopes for the transformation and improvement element of this role.

We are dedicated to improving outcomes for our women and this role will be pivotal. The key elements of the role are to:

Ensure that registered staff carrying out assessments of fetal wellbeing in both the antenatal and Intrapartum period are competent, skilled and supported in doing so.

Be a highly visible champion for both the GAP programme and for safe and effective fetal heart rate interpretation. This will be demonstrated through expert clinical knowledge and practice.

Have a strong emphasis on workplace learning through supporting the MDT team in practice.

The post holder will be an autonomous practitioner, with the key skills to project manage this role and take this element to the next level.
