Dorset Healthcare University Foundation Trust is seeking a self-motivated, experienced and enthusiastic Building Maintenance Operative with a carpentry background to join their forward thinking Maintenance Team.The Building Team delivers a high quality repair service together with pre-planned maintenance works to a variety of Trust premises including Community Hospitals, Mental Health Units, Health Centres and Administrative Buildings located throughout Dorset.The role will operate from our new Depot at Wareham.The successful applicant will need to have either a recognised trade qualification or be able to demonstrate that they have obtained the necessary skills by serving time in the carpentry trade. They must be able to work within a small team of multi-skilled tradespeople, in a friendly and busy environment; have a strong multi-skilled building and maintenance background; be able to organise their own workload; be comfortable using a PDA with a building maintenance programme; be able to work on their own and within a team in a building maintenance environment. A full driving licence will be needed. A vehicle will be provided for work use only.Specialist training will be provided for managing asbestos, lock/window repairs and repairs to sheet flooring. Successful completion of the required training will attract additional payments of up to £2600 pa.

Employment in this post requires a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The DBS levies a charge of £23 and the Trust will recover the cost in instalments from your first 3 salary payments.
