 Senior Pharmacy Assistant Technical Officer

Salary Scale: A4C Band 3 for candidate with NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Service or

 Band 2 for suitable candidate until completion of NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Service and associated competencies

Full time: 37.5 hours per week

As a result of a successful business case, we are looking to looking to recruit a Senior Ward Services Assistant Technical Officer.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, motivated and committed person who is interested in working in the Pharmacy team as we participate in an intensive service improvement project within the pharmacy department.

Suitable candidates will have an NVQ level 2 in pharmacy services and Maths and English at GCSE grade C or above, or new grade 4 or above or equivalent.

Supervision of other assistant technical officers is integral to the role so excellent communication skills and the ability to organise are essential. 

We would be willing to train a suitable candidate through the NVQ level 2 on a band 2 leading to a band 3 on qualification and completion of associated competencies. For this applicants must have obtained Maths, English, Science and one other at GCSE grade C or above, or new grade 4 or above, or equivalent.

The role of the successful candidate will include:

  • Dispensing both on the wards and in the pharmacy department
  • Working closely with members of the medicines optimisation team
  • Ensuring medicines are in the right place at the right time
  • Ensuring adequate supplies of medication are available on the wards
  • Collecting data for audit

This is a full time position, working 37.5 hours a week, including weekend and bank holiday working on a rota basis. If you’re looking for a new challenge, great start to your career, or are just looking for a change we would be interested in talking to you.

The cost of undertaking a DBS disclosure will be met by the individual. The Trust will meet the initial costs of the disclosure, and you can choose to have this deducted from either your first month’s salary or in instalments over your first 3 months’ salary. The current price of a standard check is £23 and an enhanced check is £40.
