An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and dedicated medicines management operations manager with excellent leadership skills who is enthusiastic, dynamic and innovative, with a ‘can-do’ attitude. You will have an overall responsibility for the co-ordination of pharmacy technical activities within Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust bedded units and community clinics. This role will enable you to influence and remodel the way we use digital technologies to support the pharmacy work force and skill mix.

As the successful candidate, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and will need to be able to engage and influence a range of stakeholders including executive leads and clinicians. Experience in project management and deploying Clinical NHS IT systems such as electronic prescribing as part of a Team is desirable for this role. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and managing the delivery of several projects ensuring all projects are properly structured with appropriate governance in place, providing regular reporting, effective monitoring and control to deliver project and programme outcomes and benefits.

You will be responsible for overseeing and reporting on the operational delivery of a broad range of technical medicines management and optimisation services within bedded services, primary care networks, care homes and community health services.

The post holder will have an important role in supporting the medicines management team during a time of significant service change. They will undertake core directorate activities, including writing of policies and procedures, producing and maintaining information from ePACT, data management and using clinical systems to aid service delivery.

We cover 8 Boroughs across London and the Home Counties and provide in-patient beds, community nursing, out patients care, day surgery, walk in centres, children’s services, sexual health services, specialist services and much, much more.

Applicants must hold a degree level in management, leadership, or equivalent courses and/or experience. They must also have an up to date portfolio of practice. Registration as a Pharmacy Technician (BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or NVQ Level 3) with the General Pharmaceutical Council, as well as postgraduate experience in medicines management is not essential but desirable.

The post will predominantly be working in Parsons Green with a base in Harpenden and will involve travelling between sites. The postholder may also be required to travel to other sites and services within the organisation so will require flexibility as the organisation continues to grow. A car would be useful for travelling in outer London or outside of London but is not essential.
Remote working from home may be accommodated where possible/appropriate within this role.
