Surrey Heartlands CCG are looking for a dynamic, motivated and experienced pharmacy technician to join our forward thinking, innovative and highly regarded Medicines Management team in the Surrey Downs Integrated Care Partnership.

We have an ambitious vision for transformation and continuous improvement of health and care across our footprint. We are in the unique position of having secured a devolution deal, which for the first time really brings together health and social care by allowing us to commission from a single budget. We are also developing four dynamic and sustainable Integrated Care Partnerships (across East Surrey, Guildford and Waverley, North West Surrey and Surrey Downs localities) based on co-operation with our component partners, and focusing on local population needs, priorities and decision making. In addition, we have responsibility, delegated from NHS England, for managing Primary Care contracts across the Surrey Heartlands footprint.

Surrey Downs Integrated Care Partnership (ICP) (population 290,000) has 30 GP practices working in 6 Primary Care Networks (PCNs). The Medicines Management Team works closely with all GP practices and PCNs in the ICP to improve the quality, safety and cost-effectiveness of prescribing in primary care, works with colleagues in pharmaceutical commissioning to influence hospital prescribing practice, and embed medicines optimisation into everyday practice.

The post holder will be responsible for leading and managing our team of Medicines Management Technicians, and support the Lead Primary Care Pharmacist to deliver the ICP medicines optimisation objectives and delivery plans.

The successful candidate will be an experienced pharmacy technician with a proven track-record of supporting medicines optimisation in primary care. You will have substantial experience of multidisciplinary working and effective team leadership. You will be an influential communicator with the ability to positively influence behaviours in order to implement sustainable change. You will have current registration with the GPhC. High level IT skills and familiarity with GP practice computer systems are essential.
