Part of the NIHR infrastructure, Devices for Dignity MedTech and In Vitro Diagnostic Cooperative is a national resource established to address areas of unmet clinical need.

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals is the “host” trust leading D4D and is supported by other NHS, University and Charity partners. D4D focuses on the specification, design, development and evaluation of medical devices and technologies to improve healthcare quality and well-being for patients/clients with long term conditions.

As part of the Medical Technology Innovation Theme, the post holder will support D4D to develop and deliver the digital technology ambitions of the consortia.

Key responsibilities

    • Generate a new pipeline of digital technology projects through the identification of clinical needs and the translation into projects.
    • Facilitate partnership working across the consortia
    • Lead the development and maintenance of the D4D Innovation Manager.
    • Ensure appropriate digital standards are adopted and maintained across D4D programmes.
    • Develop key relationships with local, regional and national initiatives and organisations to develop underpinning strategies on digital technology.

This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for a period of 2 years (until December 2022) due to the post being externally funded. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts taking into consideration the ongoing source of the external funding and the requirement for the post to be maintained.
