Are you passionate about mental health and recovery? Would you like work to for a service provider with an outstanding CQC rating? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a registered mental health nurse on an adult acute admissions ward.

Hadrian Unit is a 22 bedded acute admissions unit for adults aged 18 and above with a varying mental health difficulties and needs. It is set in the grounds of the Carleton Clinic in Carlisle and is part of CNTW NHS Foundation Trust.

We are currently transforming our services to meet the evolving needs of our patient group, & are developing more flexibility in our approaches which will equally provide more opportunity for staff development. We aim to maintain state of the art facilities and are working on further developing the inpatient pathways. The post holder will act as a Key worker within a multi-disciplinary team, developing collaborative and patient centred needs based care plans, through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.

They will provide excellent professional, skilled and effective person centred, evidence based nursing care.

They will be actively involved in the health and wellbeing of staff, service users, families and carers.

They will be visible and accessible to patients, families and carers working together to ensure efficient, effective and caring services.

They will contribute to achieving all performance indicators, essential standards and quality outcomes.

They will contribute to the education and development of the workforce and students.

They will contribute to staff appraisals and support personal development plans.

They will safely administer medication following Trust policies and practice guidelines.

They will provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity
The post holder will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team and will be part of the assessment of care needs, risk assessment & the formulation & implementation of care plans.

There will the opportunity to develop leadership and decisions making skills as part of the shift lead and review nurse role on the ward in addition to key working.

We offer an induction package, clinical supervision & individual appraisal package that will support around the specialist skills required to meet the needs of our patients & allow the post holder to develop personally & professionally.

We provide a 'key working' model to meet the holistic needs of our patient group & they will be encouraged to develop into our link and champion role for areas such as the Triangle of Care, Talk First Initiative, Infection Prevention, Physical health promotion/monitoring and reducing restrictive practice as well as others

The post holder will possess excellent communication & interpersonal skills, be motivated to engage, adapt to the fast changing patient group & ward environment. They must be keen to develop their skills & actively participate in the ongoing development of our service .
