Are you an experienced Children's Community Nurse looking for a new challenge or change of scene. If so then come and join us at the Children's Community Nursing Service.

We are looking for a CCN or someone with a relevant post registration qualification, and experience in Children’s Community Nursing, who is motivated forward thinking and has a sound professional knowledge and excellent communication skills. You should have the ability to prioritise and work both independently and as part of a team.

We provide highly skilled, quality clinical and non-clinical care and support to a wide range of children and their families in order to enable them to live effectively at home. The workload is varied and interesting with opportunity to develop further knowledge and skills.

You will also be responsible for holding a caseload of children with varying needs. Your daily workload is extremely varied and never the same from day to day. You will be visiting a variety of children in their homes, from those who have had surgery to the most complex who are enterally fed, have chronic illness, providing chemotherapy or children who are palliative and having end of life care.

You will need to be a good leader, solution focused, innovative, with a sound knowledge base, have excellent communication skills, ability to work autonomously, prioritising, organising and delegating the workload. You will also provide supervision, appraisals and contribute to development of staff for future roles. You will also teach parents, carers and other health professionals as required and will mentor pre and post registered students.

In a recent CQC inspection Leeds Community Healthcare were rated as good. The Children's Community Nursing Team were rated Good to Outstanding in our last internal assessment, being Outstanding for Caring towards our staff and service users and Responsive to their needs.

If you are successful in being offered a position which involves working with patients, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The level of check required is dependent upon the position that you have applied for. The Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf and will recover the cost from your salary. There will be no charge if you are enrolled in the DBS Update Service.
