RISE (CAMHS) Eating Disorder Service

Children and Young Persons Mental Health Practitioner BAND 6 (2 x 1.0 wte )

Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust. RISE Eating Disorder Service

RISE is a family of NHS-led services providing emotional wellbeing and mental health services for children and young people in Coventry and Warwickshire.

RISE aims to build resilience and empower children and young people (as well as the adults in their lives) to know where to go for help and advice.

RISE is made up of several different services, each led by mental health specialists, who work with other local services and professionals to support Young people and their families.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the RISE Eating Disorder Service (RISE EDS).

The RISE EDS is a community-based service providing assessment, support and treatment for children, young people and their families across the whole of Coventry and Warwickshire. We are a small multidisciplinary team which comprises: Mental health Practitioners, Nursing, Psychology, Psychiatry, Family therapy and Dietetics

We provide specialist eating disorder assessments and deliver evidence-based treatments for young people up to the age of 18, as well as their family/carers, with eating disorder behaviours and cognitions. We currently accept referrals for typical and atypical Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa and Binge Eating disorder.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be part of an established team providing evidence-based interventions as well as other models of therapy in line with NICE Guidance and Junior Marsipan Guidelines.

You will be a skilled, hard-working and enthusiastic MH practitioner who wishes to specialize in the field of Eating Disorders. You will be responsible for a clinical caseload, in additional to conducting assessments, attending regular MDT meetings and case discussion. It is important that you have experience of working within mental health services, holding a complex case load and acting as a care coordinator. You will also be expected to have experience of multi-agency working and working with families, and be able to demonstrate the ability to work independently and autonomously. In addition, you should have a sound understanding of the legislation and guidance for safeguarding children and young people.

We have a strong focus on evidence-based practice and the use of routine outcome measures to support care planning and interventions. There is a commitment to ongoing staff training to enable practitioners to have accredited therapeutic and supervisory skills. We are also working towards having more participation from young people and their families in directing service development.

You will receive an annual appraisal and regular supervision along with CPD opportunities as appropriate in order to support your growth and development. You will work alongside our RISE colleagues in Specialist Mental Health, Crisis Team, Looked after Children, Primary Mental Health Services and Neurodevelopmental Services.

Please note Trust interviews are currently taking place through Microsoft Teams, this can be downloaded either through the App Store or Google Play for use on your phone/tablet.
