An opportunity has become available for an apprentice Orthotic receptionist/administrator to join this busy orthotics department team to learn and develop their admin skills. The Orthotics department treats inpatients and outpatients at QMC and City Campus, and strives for excellence in patient care.

The successful candidate will form part of team of 7 administrators, 9 clinicians and 6 technicians based at the QMC and City sites. The main functions of the administrator’s role will be booking appointments, answering the telephone, processing orders for orthotic devices, stock control, booking in goods, posting items and setting up clinics.

You will be working towards a Customer Service Level 2 qualification with our preferred training provider. You will be allocated time to spend on your studies, and be supported by both your line manager and an assessor.

IT skills are essential for this post as all process are computer based. The candidate should be able to work as part of a team, and be able to demonstrate good organisational skills, inter-personal skills and be a good communicator.

  • Your post maybe subject to a DBS check which incurs a cost dependent on the level of check required (£45 for enhanced and £28 for standard). I agree to reimburse NUH NHS Trust the cost of a DBS check if it is required (by deduction from first month’s pay). Should I decide to withdraw from my job offer, I agree to reimburse NUH NHS Trust the cost of the DBS check undertaken by cheque or other agreed method.
