We have a vacancy for a Band 6 Sister / Charge Nurse working in the Main Outpatients Department, Fracture clinic and Empress Unit at Darent Valley and Gravesham Community Hospitals, in a wide range of specialties.

For many people an outpatients department is their first and only experience of using hospital services and the quality of care they receive from us leaves a lasting impression on them. You will be part of a team of over 50 nursing and phlebotomy staff and will also work in collaboration with the Reception team. There is an expectation that you will be required to travel between hospital sites if necessary to maintain the needs of the service.

Outpatient Services are rapidly changing at the moment due to the Pandemic which has accelerated the Trusts Outpatients Transformation programme. You will need to be flexible in your approach to your work and your hours, to meet the needs of the service.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate strong and compassionate leadership qualities and have a passion for improving the patient experience in addition to having a sound clinical knowledge base. They will possess well developed communication skills that will be used to engage, inspire and motivate both staff and patients in the Outpatient area. Good time management skills are essential, as is the ability to prioritise your workload.

If shortlisted, you will be given the title of a 10 minute presentation that you will need to prepare and present to the interviewing panel on the day of the interview.
