An exciting opportunity has arisen at Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Trust.

 

The Speech and Language Therapy team is currently looking for a therapy assistant.

 

The successful candidate will be supported by the Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist in the Stroke and Neuro team and work on our HASU, ASU and rehab wards. The integrated therapy team members work closely together to achieve improved outcomes and provide high quality care for patients suffering from a stroke.

 

Patients benefit from high quality care, from highly motivated and skilled staff throughout the stroke pathway at Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Trust provides the hyper acute and acute stroke care and the inpatient stroke rehabilitation.

In April and May 2017, Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust acquired the Bradley Unit, based at Woking and two Early Supported Discharge Teams for Stroke, one based at Ashford Hospital and one based at Milford Hospital. The Therapy Manager for Stroke and Neuro services manages all the stroke/neuro therapy teams at Ashford and St Peter’s NHS Foundation Trust, which has provided continuity, consistency and opportunities for joined up working, rotations, sharing of best practice and training.

 

We are looking for someone who will relish the opportunity to work with Stroke patients who have communication and swallowing disorders and to be part of the multi disciplinary team.
