We are recruiting to strengthen our response during the Coronavirus outbreak.

We are a provider for Mental health, intellectual disability and specialist mental health services, community physical health for adults and children, prison health and our low, medium and high secure hospitals including Rampton Hospital.

Occupational Therapy Assistant

Opportunities have arisen for the recruitment of an Occupational Therapy Assistant to work within the Therapies and Education Department, Day Units Team.

Rampton Hospital is part of Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and one of the three high secure hospitals in England and Wales. The hospital provides a service to people with mental health problems and personality disorders and the National Centre’s for people with learning disabilities, women and deaf men – all of whom require high levels of security. The Occupational Therapy Team is managed within the Therapies and Education Department which provides a wide range of therapeutic interventions and activities throughout the hospital.

The post holder should have NVQ level 1 or equivalent and GCSE or equivalent in English language, further training in creative and based practical skills along with experience of paid or voluntary work with individual and/or groups, and experience/understanding of working in a team setting.

Applicants should have the ability to work positively with individuals experiencing mental illness and with high levels of risk behaviour.

Good communication, negotiating skills and the ability to motivate people are also essential.

Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship
