Sheffield Treatment and Recovery Team (START), Sheffield’s Substance Misuse Treatment Service as delivered by SHSC has an overarching objective to reduce the harm which substance misuse (inclusive of alcohol) causes for individuals, communities and their families.

The Sheffield Substance Misuse Treatment Service (based across two sites, ‘The Fitzwilliam Centre’ and ‘Sidney Street’) is a citywide drug / alcohol treatment service commissioned to treat up to 3000 service users within both secondary and primary care treatment pathways.

The Substance Misuse Treatment Service is an integrated multi-disciplinary Nurse, Drug Worker, Psychosocial Intervention (PSI), Social Worker and Medical team.

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated, experienced and competent Registered Nurse Mental Health/Adult Nurse. You must also be currently registered with the NMC.

The successful applicants will be expected to provide specialist nursing to designated caseload and as required providing a clinical leadership role within our multi-disciplinary team framework.

An applicant’s knowledge / awareness of the needs of people with drug, alcohol and mental health problems is essential within this role.

Proven experience of working with Individuals with alcohol / drug problems is also essential.

The role will require the applicant to have good communication skills, effective leadership skills, and experience of working independently and as part of a team.

The service operates currently on a Monday to Friday basis 08:00 hours – 20:00 hours hence you must possess a flexible approach to your working hours.
