Clinical Fellow in Acute Medicine

12 months fixed-term post (equivalent to CT3/ST3 or higher)

A vacancy has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our expanding and dynamic Acute Medicine Team. This Clinical Fellow role is not recognised as a formal training post, however, the training opportunities will be similar to those at ST3+ level training posts.

The post holder will gain a wide range of experience in all aspects of work within the Acute Medicine Department. During this time, the post holder will work primarily in the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) and in the Ambulatory Emergency Care Unit (AECU), as well as providing support to our Short Stay Units.

Ashford and St Peters Hospital is situated on the western border of the M25 near London Heathrow. Being in Surrey it provides an enviable variety and highly sort after attractive places to live and is easily commutable to/from Central London. There are excellent local schools and plenty of outdoor pursuits nearby. In the immediate locality there are leisure centres, golf courses and beautiful stretches of the Thames river bank. Windsor, Virginia Water, Runnymede, Hampton Court, Wisley (RHS) Gardens and other places of interest are within an easy 10 mile radius.

The hospital has very close links with the Institute of Cardiovascular Research based at the nearby Royal Holloway College, University of London. The Institute has an international reputation in cardiovascular research regularly publishing in some of the most prestigious medical journals in the world and attracting millions of pounds/euros of funding under its current Director, Professor Pankaj Sharma.
