The Trust is looking for an experienced procurement professional with an adaptive and flexible approach, and ‘can do’ attitude. the sucessful candidatewill be responsible for planning and implementing strategic procurement activity at the Trust relating to specific categories.

Also managing strategic supply chain management, contracting, buying and ordering processing functions falling under the responsibility of the Senior Procurement Manager. You will undertake complex procurements for high value contracts for a wide range of goods and services and develop a robust and effective knowledge of procurement issues relating to all clinical and other goods and services procured by an NHS Foundation Trust. You will seek alternative and appropriate procurement routes that exploit savings and efficiencies for the Trust and realise better value over the life of the contract.

The post of Category Manager is a key role within the Procurement and Supplies and Department responsible for managing procurement, buying and contracting functions falling under the responsibility of the Senior Procurement Manager. The post holder will deputise for the Senior Procurement Manager as required on Trust matters pertaining to the contracting and purchasing supplies service.

The post holder will play a major role in the continuous development and improvement of the Trust toward Level 3 ‘Excelling’ of the Department of Health, NHS Standards of Procurement denoting Outstanding Procurement Performance.
