BERKSHIRE & SURREY PATHOLOGY SERVICES

A joint venture between Ashford & St Peters NHS Foundation Trust, Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, Royal Surrey County NHS Foundation Trust and Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust Hospitals.

The large Point of Care Testing (POCT) Team at Berkshire & Surrey Pathology Services (BSPS) manages the use of diagnostic POCT devices in wards, clinics and departments within the hospital trusts and also supports a variety of initiatives in primary care. Provision of POCT solutions within the appropriate patient pathways enables efficient use of staff time and improves patient satisfaction.

BSPS runs a comprehensive POCT service, the Qpoint EQAS and various innovative projects, which all continue to expand. We are now looking for a motivated, HCPC registered biomedical scientist to join us during CoVid pressures to support new services.

Experience of Siemens/Conworx POCcelerator and Clinisys systems would be an advantage.

As well as being a deputy to the POCT Manager and working alongside 4 other POCT co-ordinators, specific duties will include delivery of POCT services to primary and secondary care users in a variety of different models and actively managing more junior members of the team. Maintaining good communications with our service users will be a key part of this role.

The successful applicant will be responsible for progressing business cases for new POCT equipment in accordance with Trust policy.

Your prime site employer will be Frimley Health, based at Frimley Park Hospital but you will be required to work across sites and be able to travel to all areas covered by Berkshire & Surrey Pathology Services. Participation in the weekend/Bank Holiday rota is mandatory.

Please note this is a Bank (zero hours) contract.
