An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit to a Band 7 OT in Elective Orthopaedics to cover maternity leave – this is a fixed term contract for 12 months. The post will be based on the City campus.

We are looking for a clinician that is able to lead an in-patient team of 9 OT staff ranging from bands 2 to 6. You will be expected to have excellent clinical skills and knowledge in the complex treatment and discharge planning of elective orthopaedic patients as well as specialist splinting and bracing, for upper and lower limb conditions. Splinting skills are therefore essential for this role. This post also includes having a small outpatient caseload for both upper and lower limb conditions, including splinting, bracing and rehab.

Teaching and training, including presentation skills is also required to support the OT team and the wider MDT as well as excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with MDT colleagues. You will also have skills in self-management, including time management, prioritisation and organisation.

We will offer you a broad range of opportunities both in clinical and leadership development. We work within an effective MDT environment, where the OT role is widely valued and there are fantastic opportunities to review and change services to meet the needs of our patients.

All persons appointed to the post are required to hold registration with their appropriate professional regulatory body and to comply with their professional code of conduct. Evidence of on-going registration will be required.

NUH supports 7 day working and you will be required to work across seven days and across campuses as required to meet the needs of Therapy Services.
