MEDICAL DIVISION

Locum Consultant – Winter Support

Full-Time, 6 month Fixed Term Contract

We are pleased to offer this opportunity to join the Medical Division at the University Hospital of North Midlands (UHNM).

The successful applicant/s will join the Medical Division, which incorporates Diabetes/Endocrinology, Nephrology, Elderly Care, Acute Medicine, Respiratory, Gastroenterology and Infectious Diseases on both the Royal Stoke and County Hospital sites. The consultant team will be supported by junior grade staff. Applicants will be providing Consultant leadership and support on the winter escalation wards on both sites, to ensure appropriate clinical care and treatment of patients is provided over the winter period.

Located in Stoke-on-Trent just off the M6, culturally diverse major conurbations and the rural delights of the Peak District National Park are all within easy reach. The Trust is similarly stimulating. Employing around 11,000 staff, it has over 1,450 beds and a budget of £700 million. UHNM has made exceptional progress in the re-provision of health care services; the 90-acre site in Stoke has recently undergone a £350 million redevelopment to modernise its facilities, as has County site.

Applicants require full GMC Registration and should be either on or within 6 months of entry onto the Specialist Register at the time of interview.
