Devon Partnership NHS Trust’s Learning Disability Primary Care Learning Disability Liaison Nursing Team is looking for two enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Registered Learning Disability Nurses to join our local teams in Newton Abbot, South Devon and Tiverton, Mid Devon.

We are committed to the development of nurses working within our teams, ensuring that you are supported in your work. Practitioners are actively encouraged to use technology to enhance clinical delivery and, following assistance from the NHS Technology Fund, our health professionals have iPads in both inpatient and community settings to support their work.

Successful candidates will be at the forefront of shaping the delivery of high quality, compassionate services for adults with learning disabilities across the beautiful county of Devon.

£31,365 - £37,890 per annum pro rata (Band 6)

About you

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about helping to improve the health outcomes for people with learning disabilities, by ensuring that individuals are able to access mainstream health services and receive appropriate support when required. A working knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act (2005) and Best Interest process would be advantageous.

A working knowledge of the health needs of people with learning disabilities is essential for this post. Experience of working with G.P.s and other Primary Care services would also be highly desirable.

The ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, including family members, carers and health care providers is vital. The Primary Care Learning Disability Liaison Nurse works closely with other colleagues in the wider multi-disciplinary learning disability team, so being a team player is important.
