We’re looking for experienced Registered Practitioners (nurses, midwives, physiotherapists, paramedics and pharmacists) to join our innovative Community & School Age Immunisation Service to help us to deliver immunisation programmes across East Anglia. Owing to our developing service, the demanding schedule of the flu programme and our recovery plan post-Covid-19, we are excited to expand and recruit several new Registered Practitioners. We work in all types of schools as well as in community clinics and, occasionally domiciliary visits.

A variety of hours and contracts may be available, subject to service needs and post-Covid-19 recovery.

Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust delivers the School Age Immunisation Service in Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, Norfolk and Suffolk.

For the next academic year, the vaccinations are: childhood influenza vaccine to children in Reception and years 1 to 6, Meningitis ACWY & the Teenage Booster to year 9 young people, and HPV in years 8 and 9. Additionally we offer Hepatitis B in special schools, infant BCGs and catch-ups of all childhood immunisations.

Because the job involves travelling throughout the county, the ability to travel independently is essential.

Owing to social distancing measures, interviews will be via Skype or Microsoft Teams, so access to a device with a camera is essential. Interviews will take place on 28th July 2020.

For part-time posts, salary will be pro-rata.

The service operates a Monday to Saturday rota and staff are expected to work approx. four Saturdays per year and four after-school evening clinics per year.




As part of our safe recruitment practice pre-employment checks will be undertaken before any appointment is confirmed which may include a Disclosure and Barring check and where the position requires you to drive as part of your everyday duties, you will be asked to validate your driving licence online via the DVLA. We will also use technology to ensure the documents you provide are genuine.

Successful applicants to posts at band 6 or above for which a DBS check is required, will be asked to pay for this as a condition of their job offer (£44 for an Enhanced Check or £27 for a Standard Check). This payment will be deducted from their first month’s salary unless a longer pay back period is agreed with the appointing manager. This will not apply to successful applicants who are registered with the DBS Update Service and in possession of the disclosure certificate, for whom an online status check will be undertaken.
