This is an exciting new post within Chailey Clinical Services for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to work with children and young people with complex neurodisabilities. We work closely with our partner organisation, Chailey Heritage Foundation.

The post holder will work with a comprehensive multidisciplinary team to meet the needs of children in our care who have complex communication, eating, drinking and swallowing, and oral skill needs. The post holder will need to have:

  • Knowledge of language learning for children with movement and sensory limitations, including strategies for small class teaching environments
  • Knowledge of the full range of high and low tech AAC systems
  • Experience in implementing and adapting AAC systems over time
  • Experience of class-based working in a specialist education setting
  • Knowledge of risks linked to oro-pharyngeal dysphagia

You will be supported by an experienced Speech and Language Therapy team which includes specialists in AAC and dysphagia, and experienced Speech and Language Therapy Assistants.
