We are a busy GP Surgery in Upminster town centre. We are looking for a Salaried GP for 7 – 9 sessions per week with previous experience working in General Practice, with a view to becoming GP Partner. It’s a challenging role, but nonetheless rewarding, providing essential healthcare services to the local community.

Upminster Medical Centre is an expanding practice serving approximately 4,200 patients in Havering with 2 GP Partners, 2 part-time practice nurses, 1 Business/Practice Manager, 1 Practice Manager and an admin team. Practice is located in Upminster Town Centre app. 10 minutes’ walk from Upminster underground and railway station.

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic GP to join our team. You will be contributing to the success of our high QOF achieving practice and overall performance targets with excellent patient satisfaction scores.

The ideal candidate should have excellent organisational and time management skills. Attention to detail and ability to work in a team are also important, whilst maintaining accuracy and confidentiality and flexibility.

UK GP Practice experience is essential and applicants must have current UK professional registration and UK driving licence.

We use EMIS Web computer system.

Key duties: (please see Job Description)

These are some of the key duties among others.

  • Clinical Consultations to include face to face appointments and home visits where necessary
  • Contribute to the management & development of the Practice
  • Take on ‘Lead’ responsibilities in any agreed area of Practice management
  • Carrying out clinical audit as appropriate
  • Participating in an On-Call rota

Qualifications: (please see Person Description)

These are some of the key qualifications among others.

  • Current GMC registration
  • Membership of a recognised medical protection organisation
  • Family Planning
  • Minor Surgery, preferably
  • Mandatory Training up to date e.g. CPR/BLS/AED/Anaphylaxis, Safeguarding, etc.

Key Skills: (please see Person Specification)

  • Effective communication skills with patients and Practice team
  • Keeping calm under pressure
  • Ability to prioritise tasks
  • IT skills including EMIS Web
  • Knowledge of local area beneficial

Sessions currently available: 7 to 9 sessions per week with a view to attaining Partnership.

Annual Leave: 6 weeks per year (Excl. Bank Holidays)

 

Study Leave: 5 days per year

 

Salary:

Starting salary: Negotiable depending on experience plus benefit of NHS Pension scheme
