Wanted! Highly Specialist Dysfluency Speech and Language Therapist (0.6 WTE, Band 7) to join the small but effective and greatly valued Dysfluency team at Sussex Community Foundation NHS Trust (SCFT).

This post is based in SCFT's Central Locality (Horsham/Mid Sussex/Crawley) but some remote working would be considered.

The role involves responsibility for the busy dysfluency caseload within Central, support for Band 6 dysfluency development sessions, and support for general dysfluency work within the wider Central Children’s SALT team.

During the pandemic the Dysfluency Service has led the way in the use of remote working and the intention is to retain the best elements of this as we progress through restoration and reset. We are looking for someone with good knowledge and skills and demonstrable enthusiasm for this specialism to join our friendly and forward-looking team.

Recent feedback for the Dysfluency Service has included:

“Amazing service, so a genuine thank you from all of us.”

“We very much look forward to our next chat, you have been so helpful.

“Thank you so much for all of your help with X, he has come a long way and we really appreciate everything you have done.”

The Trust is supportive of continuing professional development and has access to education and training funds, as well as a positive attitude to self-led learning and in-house training. There is a comprehensive supervision framework and opportunities for leadership development.
