Fire Safety Specialist Officer

University of Leicester NHS Trust are looking to recruit a highly motivated, reliable and enthusiastic Fire Safety Specialist to join their Estates and Facilities team.

The position is on a permanent / full time basis (37.5 hours per week) and based from the Leicester General Hospital but travel across all sites is essential.

You will be responsible for providing the Trust with Specialist advice on all Fire Safety matters relating to people and premises across three acute hospital sites.

The primary function of this role is to ensure compliance with relevant Legislation, Regulations, Codes of Practice and Technical Guidance and that the UHL Policy is implemented and effective. This is achieved via the development and implementation of robust Fire Management arrangements of which you will be a key contributor.

Over the next five years, through a range of projects, the Trust will be investing significantly in a programme of developments across their estate. Working as part of the Fire Safety Team within the Estates department you will support this strategy by providing specialist Fire Safety advice to capital project planning, design, construction and commissioning teams.

You will have a desire and commitment to assist with the delivery of Fire Safety across the estate and you must be able to demonstrate a team ethos with the ability to be client focused. Organisation, flexibility and negotiation skills will be essential requisites for the role.

We are ideally looking for an experienced and suitably qualified individual with a proven track record in a similar role. You should have experience working within a large property portfolio preferably within a healthcare environment.
