Applications are invited for a whole-time or part-time clinical fellow in Congenital Cardiac Surgery . This post will help support the current team of NHS and academic staff of the East Midlands Congenital Heart Center (EMCHC) and The University Hospitals of Leicester Childrens hospital.

The post is currently based at the EMCHC at Glenfield Hospital. An integrated congenital heart disease team delivers the service within a single specialist hospital setting. The post holder will join a team of two other Congenital Cardiac Surgeons clinical fellows
Working alongside a team of paediatric and adult congenital cardiology team, the successful candidate will help contribute to the life-time care model for congenital heart disease patients that EMCHC prides itself on.
It is an exciting time to join the team as the Paediatric Congenital Surgical and Paediatric Cardiology teams as they are co locating to the Leicester Royal Infirmary in December 2020. This move will ensure that our paediatric patients will have access to the paediatric services currently provided there thus improving the patient journey.

The successful appointee will be expected to participate in in house surgical clinics and on-calls, The successful applicant will be encouraged to participate in research and clinical audit. As this post is regulated by the Protection of Children Act 1999, The Criminal Justice Courts Act 2000 and / or the Care Standards Act 2000 an enhanced police criminal records disclosure will be requested by the Trust in the event of a successful application.
