Consultant in Immunology & Allergy

We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic and able Consultant Immunologist to join the Department of Immunology and Allergy at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. This new post is part of planned service expansion resulting from the merger of two NHS hospital trusts in 2019, and is an opportunity to be part of this long-established and expanding tertiary and secondary care service for a diverse population of Birmingham and the West Midlands.The successful candidate will join a supportive multi-professional team providing outpatient Allergy and Immunology services, and an Immunology laboratory service. The post holder will be based at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, but may work at any of the 4 hospital sites at different times– Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, Good Hope Hospital and Solihull Hospital. There are close links with the paediatric Immunology services based at Heartlands hospital and with the Institute of Immunology and Immunotherapy at the University of Birmingham.

Applicants should be on the GMC Specialist Register in Immunology (or be within six months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT / CESR at the time of the interview) and hold MRCP and FRCPath or equivalent qualifications.
