Scheduling Lead

The Scheduling Department is an essential team within the Commercial Service Directorate of South Central Ambulance Services (SCAS). The team works collaboratively with the Operational/Control/Healthcare Logistic Team Members within the Commercial Service Directorate to ensure that we have a robust workforce in place to meet the busy demands of our service. The Scheduling Lead is a pivotal role.

The Scheduling Team is a department that was formed as a result of a transformation project within the Commercial Service Directorate. Pay progression through the Scheduling Lead Band 4 scale is dependent on completion of development pathway in the first 6-12 months of employment.

As a Scheduling Lead you will be responsible for:

  • Planning and allocating workforce resources, by utilising budgeting and forecasting. Resources to meet demand in line with organisational policy and process.

  • Liaising with Private Providers and Agencies to meet demand gaps.

  • Manage and maintain individual records on the electronic rostering system currently GRS.

  • Assisting staff with general queries and ad hoc issues (via the phone and email).

  • Input and update workforce management data accurately.

  • Assist Head of Compliance and Scheduling Team in the execution of daily, weekly, monthly and annual tasks.

  • Communicate effectively with Team Members and Managers at various levels.

  • Liaise with Managers to ensure effective utilisation of resource.

  • Support the production of reports and statistical data when required.

We are seeking applicants who

  • Have experience and knowledge of workforce management tools.
  • Have experience of Customer Service
  • Motivated and organised.
  • Have demonstrable ability to prioritise.
  • Experience of working in a busy office environment and have an ability to manage and priorities busy workloads.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills.
  • Able to demonstrate a good knowledge of MS Office.
  • Take pride in accuracy and have an ability to pay great attention to details.

The Scheduling Team currently operates Monday to Friday. Working hours are reviewed regularly and may change subject to service requirement. The successful applicant will need to have a flexible approach to hours worked.
