Healthcare Support Worker (Care Navigator) – 3 posts

Leicester Sexual Health Service, Midlands Partnership Foundation Trust,

based at The Haymarket Shopping Centre, Leicester, LE1 3YT.

Band 2 (Permanent) – Full time post, salary £17,652 - 19,020

Our opening times are Monday to Friday 8.30 am – 7pm and Saturday 9.30am – 4pm, the successful applicants must be flexible in their working patterns to cover evenings and spoke clinics if required. As our clinics are county wide it is advisable to hold a current driving licence.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 3 full time permanent Healthcare Support Worker (Care Navigator) position to contribute to the work and development of the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR) Sexual Health Services.

This post is part of the Treatment and Care team within the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Sexual Health Services in Specialist Service Directorate providing assistance and supporting sexual health medical teams.

The post holder will act in a dual role as first point of contact as part of the front of house and clinical team, Meeting & Greeting patients and assisting them with self-service check-in, self-testing and assisting the members of the medical team with patient care. The post holder will also provide a telephonist service via the Sexual Health central booking line to the wider public, booking appointments, giving out information on Sexual Health Services provided in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who possess excellent communications skills, able to work under their own initiative and have the skills to manage difficult and sensitive situations. They must be non-judgemental in their approach, able to deal with challenging and delicate situations and have a good understanding of data protection and confidentiality. They must be committed to the delivery of high standards of patient care.

The emphasis for LLR Sexual Health Service is to provide ease of access to support and advice, deliver a ‘one-stop-shop’ for services and to enable service users to take responsibility for their own on-going sexual health.

For each of the vacant posts, we are looking to appoint someone who is able to ensure the needs and wishes of service users are at the centre of what we do. They will also need to work flexibly to meet the needs of the role this includes evenings and weekends.

All successful applicants must be prepared to travel to Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent for Trust Induction Day and other training needs as required by the service.

Car driver essential or the means to get to other locations easily which may include evenings (public transport may not always be appropriate).
