Specialist Occupational Therapist – Memory Service

£31,365 - £37,890 (Band 6)

37.5hrs per week job share and part time options also considered

Do you have a special interest in working with people who are living with dementia and their families and carers?

If you do, then as a result of recent retirement an opportunity for you to join our Memory Service Team as a Specialist Occupational Therapist based in the community has arisen. The Memory Service is part of the Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Division of the Isle of Wight NHS Trust which includes acute ambulance and mental health provision.

If successful you will work alongside another Occupational Therapist (Band 6), Community Psychiatric Nurses, Admiral Nurses and Admiral Nurse Support Workers and Consultant Psychiatrists. The team also work in close partnership with statutory and voluntary/third sector services.

There is an opportunity to work in a unique and creative way to assess and implement interventions to support the needs of the person living with dementia - at its various stages - and their families/carers.

The memory service is currently working with third sector and independent organisations in reviewing, developing and implementing an island wide dementia strategy. This will provide opportunity for professional development, sharing of skills and training specifically related to dementia, which would be identified through regular supervision and appraisal.
