We are looking to expand our integrated Community Children’s Nursing Service and appoint a highly skilled, enthusiastic and forward thinking Senior Nurse into our Team.

Our established, passionate and dedicated integrated CCN team work collaboratively with children, young people (CYP) and families within the wider multi-disciplinary team to ensure care is provided within the community. We provide high quality and holistic, family centred care to CYP with a nursing need across Portsmouth and Hampshire area.

This includes children with:-

  • Urgent and unscheduled care (COAST)
  • Acute and short-term conditions
  • Long term conditions
  • Disabilities, complex conditions, those requiring continuing care and neonates
  • Life-limiting and life-threatening illness, including those requiring palliative and end of life care

Our team are looking to recruit a Registered Children’s Nurse with extensive experience in nursing children within the acute assessment or community setting.

As a Senior Nurse within the CCN service you will have the opportunity to shape and lead our responsive service as it continually adapts to the ever changing needs of the families we care for. You will have a key role in leading care planning, training and multi-disciplinary liaison for CYP with a range of needs within their home, school and wider community settings.

This opportunity will provide experience of working with CYP and families in the community setting as well as the chance to transfer a wide range of clinical skills. Continued professional development opportunities include undertaking the Community Children's Nurse Specialist Practitioner course and the History taking and assessment module (Degree/Masters level) alongside in house training and development.

This role will also enable you to further develop your leadership and management skills within the team. If you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to lead as a team player, as well as the initiative to work autonomously and effectively this could be the challenge for you. You should have good organisational skills and evidence of continued professional development.
