University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Consultant Anaesthetist to join our team at Leicester Royal Infirmary.

Leicester Royal Infirmary is one of three hospitals in the Trust, and is the site of the UHL Emergency Department. The successful candidate will contribute to the General Duties on-call rota, and provide senior anaesthetic cover for elective, emergency and trauma surgery.

UHL is fully committed to continuing medical education for consultants. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to departmental quality improvement activity and the clinical supervision of postgraduate trainees in Anaesthesia. The UHL Department of Anaesthesia is committed to working towards the Anaesthesia Clinical Services Accreditation scheme of the Royal College of Anaesthetists.

As this post is regulated by the Protection of Children Act 1999, The Criminal Justice Courts Act 2000 and the Care Standards Act 2000 an enhanced police criminal records disclosure will be requested by the Trust in the event of a successful application.
